SMS pricing depends on the destination country, the active plan, any SMS allowance included for that market, and billable messages beyond that allowance.
Use the public Hellotext pricing page and select the relevant country to see current plan allowances and extra-message rates.
How SMS enters the monthly calculation
Hellotext calculates the SMS amount for the billing period and compares it with the plan minimum, performance fee, and variable non-SMS messaging amount.
- If SMS is the highest amount, SMS becomes the Hellotext charge for that comparison.
- If another Hellotext amount is higher, SMS is not added on top of it.
Applicable taxes and services covered by a separate agreement can still appear separately.
Included SMS and extra SMS
Some plan and country combinations include an SMS allowance. Messages beyond that allowance use the published extra-message rate.
Do not assume that an allowance shown for one country applies to another. Select the country where messages will be delivered and review the active plan.
Approved senders and short codes
The sender available to a business depends on the country and account setup. Hellotext can send through approved senders or shared short codes where supported.
An exclusive short code is dedicated to one business and is intended for higher-volume or dedicated-sender requirements. It can require a separate commercial agreement and provisioning process.
See Exclusive short codes for operational details. Availability and current commercial conditions must be confirmed with Hellotext for the target country.
Before estimating an SMS campaign
Confirm:
- destination country or countries;
- current plan and included SMS allowance;
- estimated recipient count and number of sends;
- whether message length or encoding can create more than one SMS segment; and
- whether the business needs an approved shared sender or an exclusive short code.
