Pricing model

Hellotext uses results-based pricing. Instead of adding every type of usage together, Hellotext compares the main billable amounts for the month and uses only the highest one as the Hellotext charge.

Current plan prices, performance rates, SMS allowances, and included features can change. Use the public Hellotext pricing page for the current plan comparison.

The four amounts Hellotext compares

For each billing period, Hellotext compares:

  1. Plan minimum: the base amount for your selected plan and billing agreement.
  2. Performance fee: your plan rate applied to revenue attributed to Hellotext.
  3. SMS costs: billable SMS usage after any allowance that applies to your plan and country.
  4. Variable messaging fee: non-SMS messages billed at the published rate when this amount is higher than the other three.

The Hellotext charge is the highest of these four amounts. They are not added together.

Example of the highest-only rule

Suppose the amounts for one month are:

  • Plan minimum: US$100
  • Performance fee: US$180
  • SMS costs: US$45
  • Variable messaging fee: US$20

The Hellotext charge for that comparison is US$180, because the performance fee is the highest amount. It is not US$345.

This example only explains the comparison. Your plan, country, currency, taxes, usage, and attributed revenue determine the actual invoice.

Charges outside the comparison

The highest-only rule applies to the Hellotext amounts listed above. Other charges can still be separate:

  • Applicable taxes depend on your billing country and information.
  • Meta fees for WhatsApp are set and collected directly by Meta. They are paid to Meta, not Hellotext, and do not appear on the Hellotext invoice.
  • Other services covered by a custom or enterprise agreement follow that agreement.

How attributed revenue affects billing

Hellotext does not apply the performance rate to all store revenue. It applies to revenue attributed under the Hellotext attribution methodology and the rate associated with your plan.

See Performance fee calculation and How we attribute sales for the two parts of that calculation.
